the good life

Wedding season is finally here, thinking all things pretty, polished cars, little embossed invitation cards, Shoes that sparkle, and flowers a bloom. A bit of a leap out of that zone for this recent family shoot. The brief was to capture the farm family 'at work'.  Farm life has never been this much fun, and a mob of sheep have never been more confused!..into the pen, out of the pen, people being told to go 'way back' and dogs just looking on in dazed confusion.

Think dust, sheep, hats and boots (no Jimmy Choo!) and not a single glass of champagne for miles, but the beer was good. This wasn't a photo shoot, this was just some good old farm fun. I love my job x

oh you make me smile..

you make me smile like a ..da da da.. sing like a flea.. I clearly know all the words to the song. But the point I am trying to make is HAPPY is the word de jour.  Finally after a few months of procrastination, followed by false starts, followed by humming and ha ha ing, my new website is finally here.
Its not the website of my dreams, its only little, its just a start. But I am happy to get it done as it was getting me distracted from all the things I love.  Yes, Claudia Miss 6 I can come and watch Play School with you, and the cricket pitch in the paddock is beckoning even though everyone knows Mum can't bat..and she can't bowl!

Getting the most of the beautiful summer evenings with some quality girl time.
I love that our  girly picnic included toenail polish, high heels, tea cups with saucers (the good ones thankyou!) and a lot of 'Mum - Daughter - Aunty -Sister- Niece love'. Time escaped me on this little shoot, as we chased that beautiful sunset.

pumped up kicks..

I love that owning your own photography business means setting your own goals and making all the big decisions.  Some decisons are bigger than others, like this mornings decision that included on the 'to do' list 'Sync Ipod'..  It is important that I have a good workflow and I am at my best for a big day at work. I find I am best in the morning, very motivated and getting the job done, albeit with a very nice strong cup of coffee.
Lately I have been obsessed about my new website, I want it to be so pretty just like Feather and Stone.. or maybe pearly and sweet like reverie, It has become my latest obsession so I have spent way too many hours hooked up online checking stuff out, drinking coffees and not getting out of the house.  Don't even start me on Pininterest!
Hence .. back to my story. Ipod sorted, mid afternoon run is exactly what I need to re motivate and get me going again..so here I am back on track and pumped up.

back to school day

9am and the 'to do' list is looking good. First thing this morning was waking up to the beautiful sound of rainy weather on my poor crispy drought affected excuse for a lawn, and Miss 5 coming in to say 'I am ready!!' that is completely dressed for school, smart new bag packed and hair do self done ..you could tell.. ready for back to school and it was only 6.30!  

No tears and trauma's this year (that is from me!!) , just everyone keen to get back into the swing of it.

I will of course miss the school holidays, the great ideas and fun things we could do ..YES, lets build a teepee and have a Cowboys and Indians party, go yabbying (again), make a cake, colour in, play barbies (LOVE that one!), or clean our rooms. Ok that last one was my suggestion that really didn't get a gong unless I did it myself and started to discover little treasures that were long forgotten like the missing lego piece and the saved lolly wrappers and my favourite the long deceased apple cores...hmmmm

I will definately be missing Master 8 , or as he is known in my kitchen every morning 'Barista Wills' who does a mean cappacino. I think its a gagget thing, he likes the whistles and buttons and he even cleans the machine when he is finished.. and always puckers up for a big smooch when I am oh so impressed with his finished product.  Bless you Willsy x

lets see if day two of school is this blissful. Oh the serenity.

I have had so many lovely little families to shoot, this one was no exception. I know I have said I love  Lucy's..(& Claudes & Elizas & Annies...etc etc) but  what about a super handsome little Will. I may be bias because I have a Will.. Good Will Bingham, the maker of the best cappacino in town.. the one who likes to cuddle his sisters, the one who feedlots yabbies in his bedroom on the sly.. the one who gets away with being naughty some days because the umbilical cord isn't quite severed... Oh Willsy!

Here is another super handsome Will, everyone should have one in their lives. Enjoy Will, his beautiful sisters (one who has just been nominated for school captain)  and happy family, thank you for coming to Rancho Relaxo for this little portrait session.

facey facey facebook...to have to have not

Ok, I know I am way cool for  facebook, leave it to my 15 year old nieces or maybe those poor desperate souls who love to watch daytime TV , who have no friends, who need to tell us when they are making chicken satay for dinner. I really really hate that. 

Meanwhile statistics say that people with heaps of facebook friends and who use it a lot are more social and have more 'real' friends (as opposed to the virtual.. "we went to school together and you didn't like me back then, but hey lets be facebook friends" friends.) 

Who am I kidding,  I LOVE it... I have been spending much quality time here and have been loving sharing my images whilst the daunting project 'website' is a work in progress.
